We request the Government of India to implement all the decisions taken by the Joint Committee of Freedom Fighters and the Officials of the Union Home Ministry taken in its various meetings in the past in view of the advanced age of the freedom fighters.

04. Clearance of pending cases of grant of Samman Pension

We also urge the Union Home Ministry to clear all the cases of Samman Pension which are pending with the Government of India and also those cases which have not been cleared on minor technical grounds, as pointed out by the Special Audit Team of the Union Home Ministry itself formed at the stance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

The Government of India is requested to put no limit to the medical funds spent on treatment of freedom fighters in view of the veteran’s advanced age, ailments and complications. Freedom Fighters should be admitted to the Government and private hospitals designated for their treatment on top priority basis like the Ministers and Members of Parliament.

06. Naming of roads in the National Capital in memory of Pt. Sheel Bhadra Yajee and Chaudhary Ranbir Singh

We call upon the Government of India to name two prominent roads in New Delhi as “Pt. Sheel Bhadra Yajee Marg” and “Chaudhary Ranbir Singh Marg” in memory of the two great and legendary freedom fighters.

09. Allowing freedom fighters to travel in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Garib Rath and Jan Shatabdi Express trains on their existing Railway passes

Now that the few freedom fighters who are still alive are very old and physically very weak, they need more comfort and facilities while traveling. Therefore, the Government of India is urged to give them the facility to travel in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Garib Rath and Jan Shatabdi Express trains on their existing Railway passes with a companion to look after them.

Regarding Successors of Freedom Fighters

01. Recognition as Rashtriya Parivar

We urge the Government of India to recognise the families of Freedom Fighters as ‘Rashtriya Parivar” at their earliest convenience. More than a decade has passed since the proposal, after its approval by people, was submitted to the Union Home Ministry. This long overdue honour does not involve any financial liability. It would be recognition of a gesture of honour of their freedom fighters by the people of India and their Government.
